Our Commitment to Safeguarding

"The manager has created a strong safeguarding culture within the nursery"
(Ofsted 2023)

The actions we take as professionals and as a society, to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm, are referred to as 'safeguarding'.

Safeguarding can be defined as:
• Protecting children from maltreatment;
• Preventing impairment of children's health or development;
• Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care;
• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility. At The Learning Nursery all staff are trained in safeguarding matters and we have dedicated leads in safeguarding to ensure there is always someone on site to support children and families with any safeguarding matters.

Child Protection
Child Protection is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm.

If you suspect a child is at risk of harm you must act.

If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999 straight away.
