OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy
Like all nurseries, we provide extensive opportunities for children to play, to grow and to develop, but the name illustrates our committment to do even more.
Preparing children for school, equipping them with the knowledge and learning skills to make a flying start to their learning lives is paramount. We achieve this through open-ended free play with a focus on the prime areas of learning as defined in the EYFS.
The Importance of Play
Play in the early years has limitless possibilities as the children explore and make sense of their world. Open ended resources support children’s imaginative play and each day is different as to where these discoveries will take us.
At The Learning Nursery we are very passionate about following the child’s interests and allowing them to lead their own learning, by providing resources and activities that ignite curiosity we are able to support them on this journey, whether this is within the setting or using the great outdoors as a backdrop to learning.
A local school that a number of our children move on to tell us that they can always tell which of their children have been to The Learning Nursery - because their learning behaviours, knowledge, skills and understanding give them a head start at school.
